we have permission to post these pictures.  the info as far as I know is:

"May 14th, 2008 Pictures were taken by Sumer Starling a volunteer for COASST (Coastal observation and seabird survey team) for university of Washington.  They record and measure dead birds that wash up on our beach.  

2 areas that Sumer and Latresha walk on are on either side of cranberry Beach approach.  COASST  keeps all of the data from volunteers in a number of coastal locations and analyzes it.  The data we give helps establish a normal baseline for which birds wash up and when and other studies that they do.

We did call the authorities about the baby seal, but no one seemed to care much about it, we think his mama came back and got him because he was gone yesterday.
